Potty Training

We did it! We are finally potty trained! While we were doing it, it felt like we would never finish, but we did. This is a picture of the Potty Prince in his crown.

Basically to potty train Liam we had to do every trick in the book and even make up some of our own. We started off with a Potty Party where he opened up presents: pull ups, flushable wipes, a potty seat, a potty book etc... Everything he would need to go on the potty. We basically went cold turkey and packed up all of his diapers and he wore underwear unless he was sleeping. The first few days he kept having accidents, but after about 4 days he was basically potty trained.

We got the Buzz Light Year Pull Ups as an extra incentive.

Every time he went on the potty he got a sticker for his chart and a treat! He got a pack of gummy snacks. I was afraid he wouldn't go on the potty unless he got a snack, but by the time we ran out of them he was going on the potty and I didn't have to rely on the treat to get him up there.

After we got through the gummy snacks we switched to puzzle pieces. Every time he went on the potty he got a puzzle piece. He didn't know what the puzzle was going to be, so every piece was really exciting.

28 potty times later he had a completed buzz and woody puzzle. He was really proud of it.

Yeah! He finished his first chart of stickers.

As a reward for filling his sticker chart he got a buzz light year jeep and motorcycle I found at a garage sale.

Here he is showing off his new motorcycle. We played with them non stop for a week!
